North Wales Running Company Early Fall Newsletter
After several months off, the NWRC newsletter is back and hopefully better than ever!! First of all, we have made it through our first year and then some. We are having a lot of fun and hope that you are enjoying the store in the North Wales/Upper Gwynedd communities. We have met a lot of people and hope that word of mouth will keep more and more new faces coming through our doors looking for the best in running gear, advice and fun runs.
Apparently the store has reached some people in the area, as we were voted, by you, the people, as the Best of Philadelphia for Running Gear. We want to thank everyone who voted and left such wonderful comments about the store, and we hope we can continue to live up to this excellent honor! In other news, we are currently expanding our shoe product line and want to share some of our newest arrivals at the store. We are meeting high demand for the latest /Nike shoes especially the Pegasus, Structure Triax, Vomero, Equalon and the Moto’s. Stir in a whole new line of Pumas, including the Magnetist and some new updates on oldies but goodies, such as the Brooks Trance 7 and the Adrenaline ASR and you get a great batch of shoes on the wall! We are also now regularly offering selected discontinued models at a very discounted price. We always have apparel on the sales rack and will continue to offer these great deals. Don’t forget about the sweet fall/winter apparel that’s just come in! Look and feel great with the newest technical threads from all of our fine apparel companies.
We are proud to introduce some new faces on our sales team. Feel free stop to stop in and meet Courtney, Shawn, Ken and Karen as they join Scott and Amanda to staff the store. All of our newbies brinng with them excellent running and coaching knowledge and lots of experience in shoe selection and fitting. All are excellent and splendiferous runners who love the sport and look forward to providing you the best in service.
Also, don’t forget that we collect your used running shoes and pass them on to our friends at Impact Thrift stores to provide footwear to less fortunate. Specifically, we collect well loved and tattered Nike shoes to their specific recycling via our friends at Ambler Area Running Club. We are now the official collection point for AARC club members to turn in those worn out shoes, so look for those announcements to appear on their website at www.aarclub.com. Nike recycles the shoes and turns them into tracks and playground materials.
Our weekly fun runs are better than ever. Join us at 6:30 pm on Tuesdays. Ambler Area Running Club members and many many others community members have joined our ranks. We are currently switching to our winter course, and we ask you wear a reflective vest or light for safety! We have built up a good core of runners and as always, it is a great time to meet new people and get in a good run. New faces running at all paces can be seen there every week. Please join us for TACO TUESDAY on the second Tuesday of the month where we visit Tex Mex for some socializing along with fine foods and beverages. Click on “fun runs” at www.aarclub.com to see pictures. We have added pizza nights once a month and this takes place in the store after periodic Tuesday runs. These are announced on the aarclub website as well.
We continue to invite all high and grade school team runners for our very popular offer to get an additional discount if they purchase training shoes and spikes/waffles at the same time. It is a great opportunity to take care of your spring track racing and training needs in one visit. Don’t forget to be mindful of updating your training shoes. Most are good 300-450 miles, and many nagging injuries can be avoided or controlled by wearing the proper shoe, and updating it regularly. For most High School Athlete’s that’s once a season at least. We’d like to wish the best of luck to all of the local teams as they gear up for the championship season in cross country! We’ll be looking forward to hearing about all of your successes!
We were proud sponsors of the Kugle Ball, Spring Zing, Tex Mex, Summer Solstice and Phils Tavern 5k, and YMCAmazing Race recently and our racing team has been well represented in the top finishers of these and other races in the area.
